This week: Zombie Fluxx Preview

Off the Grid reviews Fluxx by Scott Jon Siegel

"Rules are awesome. If you're a fan of games, this is an inescapable truth for you. Every game you play is comprised of a set of rules, ranging from elementary to near-incomprehensible. If it's a digital game, the rules are there; you just can't see most of them. If it's an analog game, though, it becomes your job as a player to know the rules. How else are you supposed to play? Certain clever game designers have recognized the sheer importance of rules in game design, and have even recognized design itself as a sort of game. The result is games that are about rules - games that make and break their own rules as they're played. ... The most accessible of these rule-based games, however, is a little family game called Fluxx, designed by self-proclaimed hippy Andy Looney over at Looney Labs. "

Support Our Troops - Donate Games!

Ziggurat Con, the world's first convention/game day ever held in a war zone is happening in Iraq on June 9th, 2007. The largest problem with running a Con in Iraq, of course, is that there are no local stores or game publishers. So we decided to help our fans send some games to the Troops!

Join the discussion on the Rabbit mailing list to find out who is sending what. To purchase and send Looney Labs games to the soldiers gaming in Iraq between now and May 5th:

    1. Go shopping in our webstore
    2. Ship to address:
      SPC David Amberson
      A Co 86th Sig Bn
      APO, AE 09331

    3. In the "Special Instructions" comment box put "Send to Ziggurat Con in Iraq"
    4. If you'd like to include a personal message for the troops to see, put it in the middle box which says: "Type a message to be included on the packing slip if this is a gift."
Looney Labs will then consolidate the orders into one shipment, and pick up the cost of shipping ourselves. Please note that SuperFRED will *reserve* your credit card for the full amount including shipping, but we will remove that cost to you on the back end, and your card will be charged only for the games. Once we see what everyone will be sending, we'll add some games to even out the mix, and pack it all out with lots of Happy Flowers!

If you want to learn more about Ziggurat Con or learn how you can send your donations directly: Toys 4 Troops or Games For G.I.s

IMPORTANT: To get the games to the troops in time for the Con, we need to ship SOON! Make your purchases by midnight, Saturday May 5th and be SURE to follow the special instructions above. And remember, the order for the troops has to be separate from any other order you might want to place - everything in the order (including specials) will be shipped to the troops.

Consumers - Looking for Fluxx Blanxx?

    Fluxx Blanxx

THE BAD NEWS: We're temporarily out of Fluxx Blanxx, and it will be a little while before we get a new print run in.

THE GOOD NEWS: we only JUST ran out of them, so they might still be available in your friendly neighborhood game store - check our store roster and call a store near you to see if they have them. Or you can order them online still at Paizo.com. (If you run an online game store that has Fluxx Blanxx in stock, let us know and we'll list your store here. If you find one of these stores has since run out, please let us know!)

Don't Forget About These Consumer Specials!

The Computer Promo Card Flowers & Fluxx photo Get a FREE copy of the new promo card The Computer when you purchase over $25 worth of games (before Shipping).

Get a FREE copy of Flowers & Fluxx AND two copies of The Computer when you purchase over $100 worth of games (before shipping).

You have to put these into your shopping cart yourself though, so don't forget!

    Please Take our Fluxx Surveys!

Consumers - If you've played Fluxx, even once, please take our Fluxx Consumer Survey! This year marks the 10th anniversary of Fluxx, and we're doing this market survey to better understand our customer base and to help us start making plans for the next ten years! It should take only 5 to 10 minutes to take - and we'll give you $2 off your next order in our online store to say Thank You for taking the survey!

Retailers - if you have ever sold the card game Fluxx, please take our Fluxx Resellers Survey! We're looking for advice on what marketing materials we can provide to help your store celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Fluxx! The survey includes questions about the packaging and marketing ideas, as well as in store gaming and promotions. Please help us help you sell more Fluxx decks!

IMPORTANT NOTE to Firefox users: Survey Monkey has a known problem with the Firefox browser, if you have easy access to another browser, you should use that browser to take the survey. You can take this survey with Firefox, but it has this odd jumping around display problem when clicking check boxes sometimes. It works, but it's annoying.
